Donald Trump and his MAGA Republican cronies are gutting healthcare for Americans, trampling on our constitutional rights, and raising costs on everyday goods and services.

None of this is by accident. Their extreme agenda puts the interests of billionaires and large corporations first — and the rest of us are paying the price. 

As a senior Democratic leader in the House, I’m standing up to this dangerous GOP agenda as they try to make even more drastic cuts to healthcare, food assistance, and other essential programs in their government funding bills.

My Democratic colleagues and I have introduced our own proposal to prevent a government shutdown, reverse the Medicaid cuts in the Big Ugly Bill, extend soon-to-expire Affordable Care Act tax credits, and protect funds we've appropriated from recissions by Trump and Republicans.

We’re putting forward an agenda that shows how we can govern responsibly — but with a Republican House, Republican Senate, and Republican President, the GOP is taking us straight into a Republican shutdown. 

I’ve never backed down from a fight, and I’m not about to start now. But I can’t do this without you. Our end-of-quarter public reporting deadline is coming up on Tuesday, and we have to show Republicans that their dangerous policies aren’t welcome.
