Dear John,

I want to begin by lifting up that this has been an incredibly challenging month, and we may have more challenging months ahead.

In moments like this, it matters deeply to remember that we are not alone in this work. Earlier this month, I joined colleagues, friends, and partners at the Women’s Funding Network conference, where hundreds of leaders came together with clarity, courage, and commitment. It was a powerful reminder that our movements are not just surviving — they’re growing.

In my remarks, I spoke about the fire that sparked Ms. Foundation over 50 years ago — a fire fueled by rage, love, and the refusal to wait. That fire ignited a movement of women’s funds that still burns strong today. What makes women’s funds different is simple: we don’t just move money — we redistribute power. We are community-rooted, justice-driven, and unafraid to listen to and invest in bold ideas.

So what do we do with the fire we’ve inherited? We give boldly. We trust deeply. We build relentlessly. Even when the path ahead feels uncertain, I’m holding onto that spark — and the power of doing this work together

In solidarity,

Event Recap: Feminist Funded 2025

Members of the Ms. Foundation team headed to D.C. for Feminist Funded 2025, the Women’s Funding Network conference. President & CEO Teresa C. Younger delivered an opening keynote, and Deputy CEO Ruth McFarlane and Chief of Programs Ellen Liu moderated inspiring panels. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with philanthropic and movement leaders, and to see Ms. Foundation’s leadership in action.
