Meta is (Again) Putting Profit Over Children’s Safety

New reports reveal that Meta has suppressed internal research that showed risks to children in virtual reality spaces. As we’ve seen too many times before, tech companies are prioritizing growth and profit over the safety of children.

Love146’s US Survivor Care Team Trained to Advocate for Youth with IEPs

Our US Survivor Care team recently held a training on special education and IEPs to better support youth and their families as they navigate the school system. Whether a student’s needs stem from past victimization or not, our social workers connect them to resources, advocate on their behalf, and help them speak up for themselves, so they can succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Philippines: Here’s What One Child in Our Care Shared about This Photo

“This stone is like me: I know that I am strong and no matter what comes to my life, I will remain intact. Love146 came into my life and helped me see this about myself and realize it.

What I really like in this photo is the reflection of the stone, because if you look at it closely you will notice that it is blurred. All of the things in my life before were blurred and I didn’t even know that what happened to me was wrong. If I were not brave and strong, then I would still be imprisoned by my bad memories. Such negativity can destroy our beautiful future. Now everything is clear and right. I now know what I deserve and what is wrong. To me, strength is also freedom.”

Founded in 2002, Love146 journeys alongside children impacted by trafficking today and prevents the trafficking of children tomorrow. Our prevention education and survivor care work has impacted more than 100,000 young people. Our work is achieved through the power of relationships and collaboration, listening to those with lived experience, scaling proven practices, and challenging the systems that leave children vulnerable.
