JD Vance claims FCC chair's Kimmel threat was just a "joke"
Ha ha. Ha ha...ha? Pissing all over the First Amendment to appease a thin-skinned nincompoop's dictatorial demands is hilarious because it's...soooo obviously un-American! Get it?! No? Yeah, we don't either.
Take Action: End Trump's tariffs and save our farmers!
VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump regime readies bombshell criminal charges against former FBI Director James Comey
Donald Trump's vengeance campaign against basically anyone who's ever said something he did not like is continuing at breakneck pace. With just days before the statute of limitations is set to expire, the MAGA cult leader has finally found a servile loyalist to ready a criminal indictment against former FBI Director James Comey, who the president has already publicly declared "guilty as hell," for supposedly committing perjury during congressional testimony in September of 2020. The wannabe dictator forced Erik Siebert, the previous US attorney overseeing the case, out of office because he balked at charging New York Attorney General Letitia James in a separate case and was apparently reticent to take action against Comey as well. Trump then replaced Siebert with a lap dog loyalist, former personal attorney-turned-senior White House aide Lindsey Halligan, to do his authoritarian bidding. Brian Tyler Cohen and Glenn Kirschner discuss what's at stake in the latest episode of "The Legal Breakdown."
Shortages force Gaza women to suffer humiliation and discomfort
USA for UNFPA: 700,000 women and girls of menstruating age live in Gaza, including thousands experiencing their first period under bombardment and in filthy, cramped displacement camps with no chance of changing in privacy. 10 million sanitary pads are needed every month, but less than a quarter of that is available to ease the indignity and discomfort of Gazan women. The United Nations Sexual and Reproductive Health Agency (UNFPA) is leading a drive to provide 2,500 Dignity Kits to women and girls in Gaza, making sure they have menstrual products, soap, toothbrushes, and clean clothing so women in Gaza, the West Bank, and in crisis regions around the world can maintain their dignity and hygiene, even in the darkest of times. Each kit costs just $15 to produce! Will you chip in to help ease the suffering of some of the world’s most vulnerable women?
Trump administration tells agencies to draft mass firing plans ahead of potential shutdown
Once more, for the Epsteinth time: Republicans control the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives and STILL they cannot seem to muster the votes to pass an actual funding bill. If they fail to do so by October 1, the federal government will officially shut down. GOP leaders are, of course, desperately attempting to lay blame at Democrats' feet, despite math, common sense, and logic all quite clearly teaming up against them. From Donald's perch, this very may well all be by design. The Trump regime is now telling agencies to prepare large-scale firings — not temporary furloughs — of federal workers if the government does indeed shut down next week. A reduction in force would not only lay off employees but fully eliminate their positions, which would trigger yet another massive upheaval in a federal workforce that has already faced major rounds of cuts this year due to the incredibly stupid and useless DOGE crusade. Can we please be done with the stupid and let adults take back the wheel?
Kristi Noem repeatedly dodges when CNN’s Kaitlan Collins asks if Democrats are a "domestic extremist organization"
Homeland Security Sec. Kristi Noem failed the most basic of civics tests yesterday when she could not bring herself to acknowledge out loud that the Democratic Party is NOT, in fact, a "domestic extremist organization." Seriously. When pressed by CNN's Kaitlan Collins three separate times if she agreed with White House white nationalist adviser Stephen Miller's preposterous claim that fully half the people in the country are members of an extremist organization, Noem stared stone-faced into the camera and refused to answer. Remind us again how we're supposed to "turn down" the dangerous rhetoric when MAGA leaders are basically calling half the country terrorists?
Obama says Trump linking acetaminophen to autism is "violence against the truth," says progressives became complacent before the rise of MAGA
Barack Obama said Donald Trump's unfounded claims linking acetaminophen (also known as paracetamol) to autism in infants is "violence against the truth" that could harm pregnant women if they were too scared to take pain relief. "We have the spectacle of my successor in the Oval Office making broad claims around certain drugs and autism that have been continuously disproved," Obama said. "It undermines public health … that can do harm to women." Obama was speaking at an event in London, where he also weirdly called out progressives for becoming "complacent" and "smug" in the '90s and '00s, "posturing that we believe in all these values because they were never tested. Now they're being tested." Yeah, they sure as shit are. Seems like a pretty good time for Democratic Party elders — like, ya know, Barack Obama — to speak just a little more forcefully about what's truly at stake. We sure could use some of that "fierce urgency of now" right about NOW.
House Republican says his party's leaders threatened supporters of Epstein files bill
Gee, wonder what they could possibly be hiding or who they might be desperately trying to protect?!
This rollback could turn over 45 million acres of national forestlands to private logging companies
Earthjustice: National forests that are part of our public lands system are under attack by the Trump administration. For nearly 25 years, pristine forests in backcountry lands across the nation have been off-limits to massive corporate logging operations, thanks to a Forest Service policy known as the Roadless Rule. These forests provide vital wildlife habitat; protect clean, mountain-fed drinking water for millions of Americans; and provide endless recreational opportunities like camping, hunting, fishing, rafting, and mountain biking. Join the fight to protect the forests that belong to all of us, by keeping the Roadless Rule in place!
Jimmy Kimmel mocks "bully" Trump’s Truth Social meltdown over his ABC return
There's a valuable lesson to be learned in the Great Jimmy Kimmel Debacle of 2025 if anyone in Donald's orbit can actually get through to the vainglorious simpleton: take on a razor-sharp, late-night television host with a very large microphone and an army of wicked smart writers at your own peril; you will not get the last laugh, but you can pop a capillary trying.
Scientist behind Trump’s bogus Tylenol claims was paid $150,000 to give evidence against drug maker
Oh, hey. Would you look at that?
Stephen Miller accuses Gavin Newsom of inciting "violence and terrorism" on Colbert Show
White House Deputy Chief of Staff and Christian white nationalist fanboy Stephen Miller laughably accused California Gov. Gavin Newsom of inciting "violence and terrorism" on Wednesday with his actually quite reasonable and accurate remarks about living under "an authoritarian government" during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Newsom rightly noted, "Masked men jumping out of unmarked cars; people disappearing; no due process; no oversight; zero accountability happening in the United States of America today. People ask, 'Well is authoritarianism you being hyperbolic?' Bullshit we're being hyperbolic. If you're [part of the] black and brown community, it’s here in this country." Miller claimed such language — without evidence, of course — was directly responsible for this week's deadly shooting at a Dallas ICE facility. In short, doing large-scale, dehumanizing, unconstitutional shit is not a problem or cause for concern, but calling it out most certainly is. Got it.
