John,

With plastic infiltrating every part of our world -- even our bodies -- the work to reduce plastic waste and pollution is more urgent than ever.

We need to do more to expose the plastic industry's misinformation about how few of their products are actually being recycled.

We need to do more to limit or eliminate single-use plastic bags, takeout containers and other forms of wasteful packaging.

We need to do more to hold the producers of plastic accountable for the waste they're dumping on consumers and communities.

But we can't do more without your help. And if you give right now, your donation will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $10,000 nationwide.

Are you with us? Donate today to our September Drive to double your impact in cutting plastic pollution.

The plastic made today will be on this Earth for a long, long, long time: It's estimated that some plastics may take 500 years to decompose -- and even then, not completely.[1]

Worse, plastic production is expected to almost triple by 2060. That means more plastic piled onto landfills, more toxic fumes as plastic is burned in incinerators, more plastic trash in our parks, playgrounds and forests, and more tiny bits of plastic entering our water, air and bodies.[2]

We're working to prove that "triple by 2060" prediction dead-wrong. But we need everybody who's alarmed by plastic waste and pollution on board, working together.

Our team knows how to tackle the plastic problem. PIRG has helped pass laws that will help limit single-use plastics and hold producers accountable for their waste, including reducing single-use plastics and supporting producer responsibility laws. We've helped convince companies to reduce their plastic use. But we must do more.

Will you join PIRG supporters in donating to help reduce plastic pollution?
