Friend, what we're seeing right now should alarm every American.

The other day, a Fox News host suggested on live television that homeless people should be executed. We didn't hear a peep from Donald Trump.

In stark contrast, Trump openly celebrated that Jimmy Kimmel was forced off the air – and even threatened to strip broadcast licenses from networks that criticize him and his administration.

While ABC has since decided to reinstate "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", the supposedly "independent" chair of the FCC, Chair Brendan Carr, has made it clear that he plans to continue using the agency as his personal speech police, punishing Trump critics while protecting Trump cronies.

That's not free speech. That's authoritarianism. And it cannot stand.

No critic will be safe – not a comedian, not a journalist, and certainly not you. Our governmental agencies cannot be weaponized like mob bosses to intimidate and silence dissent. 

Censoring our media goes to the core of suppressing free speech in this country. Trump – through his lapdog chair of the FCC – is creating the fear and intimidation that serve as instruments of authoritarian power. That's why today, I'm calling for Brendan Carr’s resignation – and I need you with me.
