In Democratic Republic of Congo, MSF vaccinated over 2 million children last year to help stop the spread of measles and cholera. US funding cuts to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, could leave 75 million children without routine vaccinations. In over 20 countries, MSF teams report suspended sexual and reproductive health programs. In Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, we’re responding with emergency kits and post-abortion care as other providers shut down. Cuts to PEPFAR and USAID have shuttered HIV services across Africa and Central America. In Honduras, MSF has seen a 70 percent increase in demand for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) tablets. As
cholera spreads in South Sudan and Ethiopia, mobile clinics supported by US aid have been suspended. MSF is one of the few responders left—treating patients and supplying vaccines in hard-hit areas.
