Access to the ballot is essential for a healthy democracy. We’re being joined by Save Maine Absentee Voting Campaign members Beth Allen, Executive Director of the Maine Votes/Maine Voices Network, and Nick Janzen, Policy and Partnerships Director at Maine Conservation Voters, to learn about Ballot Question 1. Designed to make absentee voting harder, Question 1 would eliminate the two busiest days of the absentee voting period, end ongoing absentee voting for older voters and voters with disabilities, and make it more difficult to request and return an absentee ballot. These changes would disproportionately impact older adults, voters with disabilities, and residents in rural communities.
