We know this much: Tom Homan, Donald Trump’s hand-picked “border czar,” was caught on video in an FBI sting accepting a $50,000 bribe for immigration contracts in a bag.
The Department of Justice – taking its cues from Trump – handwaved it away.
Trump wants to send federal agents into states to monitor elections. He wants to arrest governors and mayors and sue states to seize control of their voter data. And yet, when someone in his own inner circle gets caught red-handed in a public corruption sting it’s apparently no big deal.
This is the authoritarian playbook in action:
- Shield your loyalists from the law
- Punish your political enemies
- And ignore any crime that benefits your regime
Thankfully, the Senate Judiciary Committee announced it is opening a formal investigation into the entire scheme.
Because the same people ranting about “election integrity” are silent when Trump’s DOJ ignores its own corruption. They want to weaponize the Department of Justice to punish their enemies and protect their friends.
We can’t let this go unanswered.
