Weekly Poll
I ask. You answer.
The House, Senate, and President Trump have been working to deliver for rural health across the United States. Now, a new cooperative agreement, the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) program, aims to invest $50 billion in rural health across the United States over five years. The RHT program is designed to address root causes and promote long-term sustainability for rural health systems. The program is designed to empower states by allowing local governors to apply and submit bold proposals tailored to each state’s rural communities. For a state like Mississippi, which leads the nation in the number of rural hospitals, this program would invest a minimum of $100 million each year in our rural health systems, optimizing and strengthening them for years to come. You can read more about the program from the Department of Health and Human Services here.
Friday Night Lights
I was honored to participate in the coin toss for my alma mater, Brandon High School, as they took on the Clinton Arrows. There is no place I would rather be than watching football under the “Friday Night Lights.”
Unleashing American Energy
House Republicans are unleashing American energy dominance to lower costs for working families and ensure the reliability and stability of future energy sources. Republicans are working to reverse disastrous Biden-era policies, cut red tape to streamline the permitting process, and re-establish the National Coal Council to provide Americans with more dependable, abundant, affordable, and reliable energy.
Working for the American People
The Budget Reconciliation Bill grows America’s energy dominance by:
o Expanding onshore and offshore oil, gas, and coal leasing sales.
o Ensuring leasing certainty in states with federal lands.
o Mandating offshore oil and gas lease sales to bring in billions in federal revenue and provide long-term energy stability in the Gulf of America and Alaska’s Cook Inlet.
o Lowering royalty rates on oil, gas, and coal to boost production and lower energy costs.
o Requiring leasing within 18 months of interest—no more delays due to bureaucratic foot-dragging or land use revisions.
o Requiring new coal lease sales to keep reliable, affordable energy on the grid.
o Repealing Biden’s wasteful green slush funds from the Inflation Reduction Act—saving taxpayers billions.
o Refilling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to strengthen national security and prepare for emergencies.
o Building American energy, refining, and mining infrastructure through the Energy Dominance Financing program to ensure secure pipelines.
o Modernizing the Department of Energy with cutting-edge public-private AI partnerships to lead in energy innovation.
o Energy prices have already begun falling.
o Gas prices were near the lowest levels in twenty years this summer.
o Coal prices dropped to their lowest level since 2021.
