John,
Donald Trump just stripped away bargaining rights from more than 1 million
federal workers, securing his place in history as the worst union-busting
president in modern history.
After months of relentless attacks from Elon Musk and MAGA, Trump is
piling on federal employees and taking his coordinated assault on labor
rights to a new low.
More than 400,000 Department of Veterans Affairs workers have already had
their union contract ripped up, along with basic workplace protections.
More agencies could be next.
Here’s how this impacts federal workers:
* No right to negotiate for better pay, hours, and working conditions
* No collective voice in the workplace
* No right to organize
* No authority to represent them in disputes
* No way for workers to fight unfair termination (which we know is one
of this administration’s favorite pastimes)
This is an all-out assault on workers’ rights — and obvious retaliation
against federal employees who dared to speak out or challenge Trump in
court.
But Trump can’t change the facts: Every worker has the right to join a
union — and that includes federal workers.
If we don’t stand up now, the assault on labor rights will only get worse.
We need a fearless, pro-labor champion who’s ready to fight back and win
for workers.
That’s why Pramila is working to create a Workers’ Bill of Rights, protect
every worker’s right to organize, make the minimum wage a living wage, and
secure fair pay and rights for gigworkers, farmworkers, and more.
Because she knows there is no justice without economic justice for working
class people across the country.
