Hi, it’s Ghazala Hashmi, Democratic Nominee for VA Lieutenant Governor. 

Former Virginia State Senator Joe Morrissey was convicted and served jail time on a misdemeanor charge stemming from allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old receptionist in his law office.

And today, I’m proud to announce that I did NOT receive his endorsement for my campaign. He is supporting my opponent.

I’ve been endorsed by both sitting U.S. Senators from Virginia and five Democratic members of the U.S. House from Virginia. I’m the only candidate endorsed by abortion rights groups, labor unions, environmental groups, and Virginia Professional Firefighters.

That’s the kind of support I care about and value.

I’m more than proud to not have Joe Morrissey’s endorsement. I have Democrats, abortion rights groups, and firefighters by my side.
