Freshman Rep. Jeff Crank (CO-05), who represents the trending-blue region of Colorado Springs, was elected in part on his promise to fight to keep Space Command in Colorado Springs. He even explicitly vowed in January of this year that “the fight is going to be on” if Donald Trump decided to move Space Command to Alabama.

So when Trump announced in a hastily arranged press conference that U.S. Space Command HQ will be moved from Colorado Springs to Alabama, we expected Jeff Crank to be gearing up to do battle with the Trump Administration.

Instead? Crickets. Nothing. Not so much as a cross word about Trump or his stupid, politically-motivated decision. Just the same old MAGA song and dance: trust Dear Leader, things will be ok, Trump knows best. 

MAGA Republicans who represent Coloradans rolled over for Trump and rolled their constituents. They didn't even spare a thought for the military communities and towns in Colorado that will be harmed by this move.

This week's headline revealed the ugly truth: Crank deliberately abandoned his constituents and declined to fight at all, much less criticize the decision. 

Coward. 

Around election time, Jeff Crank vowed to fight Trump if he tried to move Space Command; (below headline) now he has declined to fight or say anything at all. (top)

Jeff Crank lied. He didn't take on Trump, or fight for his people. He tucked his tail and ran away from the fight—leaving his constituents, many of them military families, with the wreckage of this reckless political decision.

It's time to throw Crank out of Congress.

OK, Jeff: "the fight is on." Colorado Turnout Project is making firing Jeff Crank one of our top priorities. CO did not shift hard right in 2024; and Crank's 5th District has been trending blue for years. He can be defeated if we organize right now. 

We will target Rep. Crank (along with Lauren Boebert and Gabe Evans) and work relentlessly to kick him out of Congress.
