John,
This week, Trump urged pregnant women not to use acetaminophen, saying instead they should “fight like hell not to take it” and to “tough it out” when in pain. [1] Why? Because he wants you to think autism is somebody’s fault. And of course first on the list for blame is … ding … people not checking in with him about whether and how they should proceed with pregnancy.
To this administration, people with the capacity for pregnancy – our pain, our needs, our opinions – don’t matter. Fight this disinformation (and disregard!) with a donation today.
Reputable medical organizations, such as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, have affirmed that “not a single reputable study has successfully concluded that the use of acetaminophen in any trimester of pregnancy causes neurodevelopmental disorders in children.” [2]
Trump’s latest medical disinformation dump is just the latest in a long line of bogus pseudo-scientific statements including that the life-saving childhood immunization schedule “loads up” children with too many vaccines and that babies shouldn’t be vaccinated for Hepatitis B. [3]
Trump’s latest scare-mongering about pregnancy in lockstep with his anti-abortion cronies and their push to deny autonomy to all people who are or may become pregnant. Fight back with a donation now.
Sincerely,
Erin Matson

P.S. We’ve been calling out their bad science for years. Give to keep the pressure on.
