When I first laid eyes on this gallant mule, it was obvious that he was in agonizing shape. For two weeks, we healed Asif's excruciatingly inflamed and infected wound. Then, with the worst of the emergency behind him, we went back in to remove dead and dying tissue and bone. After five long months of major attention, treatment, and healing, we joyfully reunited Asif with his family.
Every day, working animals like Asif are brought to us. Last year alone, we treated a total of 1,800 working animals.
