Donald Trump just kicked thousands of battle-tested patriots out of the
military and stripped away retirement benefits after years of honorable
service — not because of their performance but because they dared to live
openly as trans.

Let’s be clear: Trans people have always served in our military. There was
no “problem” until Donald Trump invented one.

Our servicemembers put their lives on the line to defend our freedoms.
They deserve someone who fights for them.

That’s why I introduced two amendments to the National Defense
Authorization Act (NDAA) to repeal Trump’s trans military ban and restore
retirement benefits for trans veterans forced out of service.

As the only trans member elected to Congress, I refuse to stay
silent. I
won’t stand by as Donald Trump continues to use brave service members as
political pawns and scapegoats.
