This is devastating news:

Donald Trump just moved to eliminate a hard-won rule that protects our
public lands from irresponsible oil drilling, coal mining, and other
destructive fossil fuel extraction. That means more pollution,
environmental devastation, and billionaires cashing in while our
communities pay the price.

This is a direct attack on the lands we hold sacred and everyone who has
fought to protect them.

As Secretary of the Interior, I was the person in charge of managing our
public lands. So this issue is very personal to me.

As a New Mexican this issue is also personal because our state has a significant amount
of public lands, and tens of millions of acres are managed by the federal
government.

As Governor, protecting New Mexico’s lands, waters, and air from Donald
Trump, polluters, and profiteers will be one of my top priorities. But
with our public lands under active threat right now, I need your support:
