Email from Citizens for Traditional Values A move of God in our midst View in Browser   We can see the titanic shift that is happening to the fabric of our nation. When Charlie Kirk was assassinated, something snapped in the spiritual realm. The outpouring of people returning to church, seeking God, and talking about cleaning up their lives in the last few days can only be described in one way: God. He is doing something magnificent despite great tragedy. Our founder James Muffett shared the following on the legacy of Charlie Kirk.   At CTV we couldn’t agree more with Charlie’s message to the world, anchored in his faith in Jesus, that we MUST engage, keep talking, in the public arena – clearly, with compassion and truth. So what does “engaging” as a Christian in the public arena look like? When our values are being dismantled by a bill in Lansing, do you CALL or WRITE your Legislator or Members of the State School Board or other agencies? They HAVE to hear from us or they think all is just fine. When elections come, are you voting for the candidate who represents your values? Do you ask your pastor to talk about the issues and in elections to consider taking our CTV voter guides? Do you financially support candidates who you align with? And/or support organizations like ours that take the time to teach/train and do endorsements of candidates so you may have a guide? Charlie showed us how our words as humans are powerful. In election years, your support of candidates and voting is equally powerful or our values will NOT prevail.  It takes 50 + 1 votes to pass a law and the same to elect a candidate! William Bennett recently wrote, “Is the cost of having conversation so high that capable, principled people retreat from public engagement entirely?” I pray not.   Friend, you are needed in the arena now more than ever before. Romans 8:28 stands true that, what the devil meant for evil, God is using for good. Now may we be faithful in utilizing this awakening well! We hope you can get more involved with us! The news in Lansing, Michigan: budget negotiations are still underway. Please pray for our leaders as they have the pending deadline of September 30 to meet the budget requirements otherwise we face a government shutdown in our state. A bill on national level to ban Sharia Law could impact Michigan with our Dearborn population. And on that note, the Muslim Mayor in Dearborn just recently decided that a Christian pastor was not welcomed at his city council meetings.   Happenings This week is Rosh Hashanah!
