MY REFLECTIONS ON THE CHARLIE KIRK MEMORIAL SERVICE
I was blessed to attend the Charlie Kirk memorial service in Glendale, AZ, on Sunday, September 21, 2025—eleven days after his assassination and martyrdom. It was an amazing event that is certainly another one of the indications of a Third Great Awakening in America. It was amazing! You can watch the whole service on our Gospel Truth Network at GTNTV.com ([link removed]) .
They estimate there were around 100,000 people in attendance and multiple millions watching the broadcast. As far as I know, it was the largest Christian gathering ever in the United States, and the memorial was watched by as many or more people as the Super Bowl. Praise the Lord! It was historic.
I queued up to get into the venue at 4:30 in the morning. We had three hours of worship before the actual service began, and it was awesome! It was as anointed as any praise and worship service in church. The worship leaders were on their knees with tears streaming down their faces. It wasn’t a performance, but it was evident that they were worshiping the Lord with all their hearts. I heard several of the speakers say they had never experienced the presence of the Lord like this, and I suspect most of the people attending would be able to say the same thing.
Charlie’s pastor, Rob McCoy, gave a very clear Gospel message and invitation to receive Jesus as personal Savior at the very beginning, with thousands standing to say they were making that commitment. Certainly, many tens of thousands watching also made that commitment. It was one thing for Pastor McCoy to speak so clearly and boldly about Jesus, but every single person who spoke did the same thing.
Not only staff and friends of Charlie spoke openly about the Lord, but the politicians gave as clear a Gospel message as you would get in church. As Jentezen Franklin, who was sitting right in front of me, said, “We have more preachers in the cabinet than some denominations have in their churches.” It was amazing!
There were a couple of the political figures who you could tell were just speaking about the Lord because they “read the crowd” and knew that it was expected, but even that was an indication that something significant has taken place in this nation. To openly glorify the Lord in front of millions would not have been considered appropriate a year ago. There has been a significant change in the spiritual realm over this nation. Praise the Lord!
And I was blessed beyond measure to hear some of the leaders in our government give very clear Gospel messages that you could tell came from their hearts. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said,
One of the things [Charlie] wants us to take away from this, from all of this, is the following: His deep belief that we were all created, every single one of us, before the beginning of time by the hands of the God of the universe, an all-powerful God who loved us and created us for the purpose of living with Him in eternity. But then sin entered the world and separated us from our Creator. And so God took on the form of a man and came down and lived among us. And He suffered like men, and He died like a man. But on the third day He rose, unlike any mortal man. And to prove any doubters wrong, He ate with His disciples so they could see, and they touched His wounds. He didn’t rise as a ghost or as a spirit, but as flesh. And then He rose to heaven. But He promised He would return. And He will. . . . Because He took on that death, because He carried that cross, we were freed from the sin that separated us from Him. And when He returns, there will be a new heaven and a new earth, and we will
all be together. And we are going to have a great reunion there again with Charlie and all the people we love.
Rubio emphatically stated that Jesus came in the flesh (1 John 4:2). That is a clearer Gospel presentation than 50 percent of preachers in America preach from their pulpits.
The head of our newly renamed War Department, Pete Hegseth, said,
Only Christ is King, our Lord and Savior. Our sins are washed away by the blood of Jesus. Fear God and fear no man. That was Charlie Kirk.
Hegseth went on to say,
This is not a political war. It’s not even a cultural war. It’s a spiritual war. Faith and family first. There is a God. . . . Charlie started with liberty but ended up lighting our country on fire for Christ. He started Turning Point USA, but this moment is the turning point for the USA. Right now.
Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), said, “Charlie was fearless. But where did his fearlessness come from? The answer lies in Corinthians.” She then read from 2 Corinthians 5:6–9:
Therefore, be always of good courage and know that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. We are of good courage, I say, and prefer to be absent from the body and at home with the Lord. Therefore, we have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.
Tulsi went on to say,
God says, “Don’t be afraid. I am with you. I will strengthen you and help you” [see Isaiah 41:10]. And He is with us. He sits within every one of our hearts, just waiting for us to choose Him, to say, as Charlie did, “God, use me for Your will.”
Vice President JD Vance said,
The evil murderer who took Charlie from us expected us to have a funeral today. And instead, my friends, we have had a revival in celebration of Charlie Kirk and of his Lord Jesus Christ.
And a very powerful statement by the Vice President was,
I was telling somebody backstage that I always felt a little uncomfortable talking about my faith in public, as much as I love the Lord and as much as it was an important part of my life. I have talked more about Jesus Christ in the past two weeks than I have my entire time in public life.
Praise the Lord! I believe that sums up what has happened to thousands of people who were impacted by Charlie Kirk’s life. People have been inspired to stand up for their faith as Charlie did. The devil made one of his biggest mistakes ever in killing Charlie Kirk. He killed the messenger, but the message is being proclaimed louder and by more people than ever before.
Vice President Vance went on to say,
Charlie suffered a terrible fate, my friends. We all know it; we all saw it. But it is not the worst fate. It is better to face a gunman than to live your life afraid to speak the truth. It is better to be persecuted for your faith than to deny the kingship of Christ. It is better to die a young man in this world than to sell your soul for an easy life with no purpose, no risk, no love, and no truth. Christ told us in the Gospel of John, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” [John 16:33]. Charlie took heart, and now we must do the same.
There were news outlets that said they had never seen anything like what happened at this memorial. It really was a five-hour-long church service which was unlike any church most of the attendees had ever experienced before. Steve Deace of The Blaze said, “It’s quite possible we are now witnessing the largest singular proclamation of the gospel in all of human history.” Megan Basham said, “This memorial is the nail in the coffin of third-wayism. Praise God. No more lukewarm, inoffensive Christianity.”
Charlie’s own wife made some of the most moving comments of the day. Erika spoke with a strength that could only have come from her faith in the Lord. She pointed out that in the wake of Charlie’s death,
We didn’t see violence. We didn’t see rioting. We didn’t see revolution. Instead, we saw what my husband always prayed he would see in this country. We saw revival. This past week, we saw people open a Bible for the first time in a decade. We saw people pray for the first time since they were children. We saw people go to a church service for the first time in their entire lives.
That was so true. All we have to do to discern which side has the moral high ground in this fight for our nation is look at the way the right and the left respond when something they don’t like happens to them and their constituents. During the 2020 riots, the left looted, burned, occupied, and even killed others because of their “perceived” hurt. But after Charlie’s murder, the conservative lives that he touched held prayer vigils and commemorative services that were peaceful.
One of the most impactful moments of the whole day was when Erika Kirk forgave the person who killed her husband and father of her two young children. I was sitting right in front of a thirty-foot-high screen that blew her image up so large, you could see even the slightest change in her expression. You could see the hurt and possibly even anger as she spoke of what that person did. But with her eyes turned to heaven, she said,
That man, that young man. I forgive him.
The response in the arena was overwhelming as we all watched someone live out what Jesus told us to do. I know this impacted millions who witnessed what they had only heard in sermons before. We will never forget this.
President Trump was the last speaker, and he, too, spoke so openly of Charlie’s faith in Jesus that it left no doubt that our president is not afraid to proclaim that America is a Christian nation, and it is only as we return to our godly roots that we will survive and thrive. As President Trump came on stage, the whole audience stood as pyrotechnics went off and Lee Greenwood sang his famous song God Bless the USA, with the powerful chorus line, “I’m proud to be an American.” It was an awesome moment, and it truly made everyone proud to be an American.
Elizabeth Muren, who is the head of our Gospel Truth Network, was there with some of our staff to broadcast the whole eight hours of ministry. She is a naturalized American citizen who loves America more than most Americans because she’s lived in other countries and knows how special America is. She sees things through a lens that many of us fail to see because we have taken our freedoms for granted. She was overwhelmed and shared that nowhere else on earth could something like this have happened.
I agree. I believe with all my heart that just as the Lord spoke to me on March 5, 2021, we are already in the beginnings of the Third Great Awakening in the United States. And it is not confined to us; this is touching the world.
If you haven’t gotten our fifty-minute-long documentary about my three prophetic words about this Great Awakening, I encourage you to do so. You can go to our Truth & Liberty website at TruthandLiberty.net ([link removed]) or call (719) 635-1111. Our twenty-four-hour-a-day Helpline ministers will be glad to assist you too.
The Lord is moving, and this is a great time to be alive. If the Lord tarries beyond our lifetime, history will show this is one of the greatest moves of God in our history. It won’t all be pretty. I spoke a prophetic word on June 30 this past summer at the first night of our Summer Family Bible Conference that there is coming a very strong persecution against true believers, even here in America. But just as with Charlie, they may attack and even silence some of the messengers, but the truth is marching on like never before.
As Jesus spoke to His disciples in John 4:35,
Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
We have an opportunity to proclaim the Gospel as never before in this generation, but we don’t know how long it will last. Millions of souls are ripe for the harvest, and we must work while we can. The night comes when no one can work (John 9:4).
Join me in rejoicing for answered prayer and in proclaiming the Good News of Jesus’ unconditional love for us all. Amen!
