John,

One year ago, we released Trans Kids, Our Kids ([link removed]) – an important book that shares the stories of transgender youth and their families, spotlighting the choices they are making to survive in today's relentless environment. We've spent the year traveling across the country to share these stories, and I want to take a minute to celebrate some of these moments with you.

Click here to watch a new video recapping the beautiful moments we shared and wonderful people we met spreading the word about Trans Kids, Our Kids. Your stories and support have made all of these connections possible. ([link removed])

In the first year of Trans Kids, Our Kids, we:
* Hosted over 30 book events across 20 states in the South, Northeast, and Midwest
* Mailed copies of the book to every U.S. Senator and asked them to protect trans youth
* Distributed more than 600 free books to trans and queer youth across the South
* Gathered hundreds of trans folks, allies, and advocates to discuss these stories

And we're not done sharing these stories far and wide; not until elected officials stop attacking the rights and freedoms of trans youth and every young trans person is able to access essential healthcare regardless of where they live. These stories can go further when they're shared in classrooms, discussed between friends at a book club, or even read aloud during a hearing when lawmakers are considering legislation impacting trans youth – and that's where you come in.

Help us share these powerful stories far and wide by choosing Trans Kids, Our Kids for your book club, GSA, or other curriculum. You can also host a book event and the authors may be able to join you! We're thankful for however you choose to spread the word, and have resources to help you facilitate these important conversations. ([link removed])

Though this book has been out for a year, the stories shared in it remain prescient today as more and more families of trans youth face interruptions in their healthcare access. Every day, the Campaign for Southern Equality works to support these families and young people through our Trans Youth Emergency Project, and we'll never stop fighting to ensure that every trans young person lives with dignity and equality. You're an important part of building that world – one of loving acceptance instead of misinformed political attacks. Every sale of Trans Kids, Our Kids directly benefits the Trans Youth Emergency Project, and this work to build the kinder, more welcoming world these brave young folks deserve.

Thank you for all you've done to make the first year of Trans Kids, Our Kids so special.

With gratitude,
Alexis Stratton
