Our environment is both a source of incredible beauty and a force to be reckoned with.
When emergencies occur, protecting our public lands and responding to natural disasters are deeply connected responsibilities.
After the January 22nd floods, more than 1,200 people needed emergency lodging. With community partners and volunteers, we supported temporary housing, transportation, food, and recovery efforts, including providing bins for residents to safely dispose of flood-damaged items.
Sowing the seeds for tomorrow is just as critical. Last year, I was proud to secure a $2M investment that planted 4,000 trees, reducing greenhouse gases and improving air quality, small steps toward a healthier future for everyone.
Each effort reflected the urgent and ongoing needs across our community and reminded me how much we accomplish when we come together.
