When I get clean drinking water from my tap, I thank a plumber.

When I safely fill up my tank to get where I need to go, I thank a pipe liner.

When I stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter, I thank a pipe fitter.

And when buildings are protected with state-of-the-art fire suppression systems, I thank a sprinkler fitter.

I was honored to join the brothers and sisters of the Michigan Pipe Trades Association at their quarterly meeting. Their work keeps our communities running safely and smoothly, and their unions ensure those workers are treated with dignity, fair pay, and respect.

In Congress, I’ll always stand up for unions and fight to protect the right to organize because when unions are strong, working families are strong.

You know as well as I do that Donald Trump and Republican extremists are working to gut union rights and tilt the playing field even further toward corporations and billionaires.

I’ll always fight for unions. Will you chip in $5, $10, or whatever you can to help me stand with working families and fight for the right to organize?
