Dear Friend,
While the news right now is heavy and the stakes are high, I’m finding hope in the resilience of our community and the steadfast belief that our values are worth fighting for. I’m working hard to advance real solutions – from expanding TRICARE coverage of fertility treatments, including IVF, to funding more affordable child care to fighting for our trans community.
To help improve the federal grantmaking experience, the Department of Health and Human Services has announced a simpler grants website. You can still access grants on grants.gov, but the new, easier search tool can be found at simpler.grants.gov. This website is still experimental, but given recent changes that have made the grant process more difficult, it is a welcome tool to help find federal resources that align with your organization’s mission.
You can also find up-to-date information on open federal grants here, though please note these grants may be subject to impacts from actions taken by federal agencies. This spreadsheet is updated monthly and will include grants across the spectrum of issues the federal government addresses. The grants can be easily sorted by category. We will also keep tabs open for previous grant opportunities based on the month sent.
Here are a few grants I want you to be aware of:
- The Home Veterans' Reintegration Program, an employment-focused competitive grant program, which aims to support America’s veterans in achieving their full employment potential and securing high-quality career outcomes for veterans experiencing and at risk of homelessness. You can find the grant announcement here. This grant hasn’t been posted yet, but is forecasted to be posted in early 2026.
- The Midsize and Large Drinking Water System Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability Program. This grant program assists medium and large size public water systems with protecting drinking water sources from natural hazards, extreme weather events, and cybersecurity threats. Eligible applicants for this grant program include public water systems that serve a population of 10,000 people or more. You can find the opportunity announcement here. The application deadline is October 6, 2025.
- The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program. Noyce supports talented science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) undergraduate majors and professionals to become effective K-12 STEM teachers. You can find more information here. This grant closes August 25, 2026.
In addition to sharing open and upcoming federal funding opportunities, my office can also help your grant efforts with a letter of support for any federal grant application. Congressional letters of support help show grant reviewers that your project has buy-in from regional stakeholders and make your application more competitive. If you would like to request a letter of support from our office, please contact [email protected] to learn more about how my staff and I can help you.
