** Bay Get Ready: Noncooperation Training needs volunteers!
------------------------------------------------------------
Indivisible SF is helping with the mass non-cooperation training ([link removed]) by Bay Resistance on Sunday, October 5 to prepare our communities for escalations from Trump and the MAGA regime.
We need your help.
Bay Resistance is looking for 20 more event monitors to help with the event. This will be a peaceful event with no planned escalations, but we are expecting high attendance and need more people in hi-vis vests! you’d like to help, please fill out this google form ([link removed]) . It will be sent to our lead coordinator with Bay Resistance.
** No Kings 2 is Saturday, October 18 at 2 PM. We need your help now.
------------------------------------------------------------
Our second No Kings march will take place on Saturday, October 18th. We’re gathering at Embarcadero Plaza and will march to Civic Center Plaza for a rally hosted by our partners at the National Nurses Union.
We need you. If you are interested in helping us keep this event orderly, please sign up via the form below. (We’re trying an alternative form service since some folks have concerns about giving their data to Google. Please let us know if you have any trouble.)
Please sign up to volunteer today. ([link removed])
If you’re uncomfortable filling out online forms, respond to this email and let us know what you’d like to do (you can consult the form without submitting it) and we’ll add you to the corresponding No Kings 2 volunteer group.
We’re looking to recruit at least 100 volunteers for this event, as we expect massive attendance at or more the size of the original No Kings protest. Please sign up, and ask your friends to sign up.
In addition to volunteers, we’ll also need money. We’ll use your donations to bring good sound, good signs, and more to No Kings and future events (protests and other). Please send your donation to our Venmo ([link removed]) or our ActBlue ([link removed]) .
Get more details on our website at [link removed]. And start spreading the word: on Saturday, October 18, we say NO KINGS!
** No Funds for Trumpism: No Funds for anti-LGBTQ+ hate
------------------------------------------------------------
The budget battle in Congress over the proposed Republican Continuing Resolution (CR) is still ongoing. Since they are on recess this week, this is a good time to contact your MoC to urge a Senate filibuster and House resistance against all budget bills or CRs that fail to stand against the MAGA Regime agenda.
We need the Democratic caucus to fight through a government shutdown and rally the public with all the tools at its disposal. Fighting to restore Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare, and trans-health funding is a good start, but not sufficient. The 2026 election will be too late—we need our MoC to confront and fight now and continue doing so.
On top of the usual array of horrors, MAGA Republicans in Congress have attached anti-LGBTQ+ attack riders to funding bills for the government.
Too often, Democrats in Congress have gone along with Republican attacks in the name of “bipartisanship.” We should prepare for nothing less this time. They need to hear from us that we want them to protect their constituents.
You can't appease fascism by sacrificing a minority—you only embolden it. To protect our democracy and all our rights, we need Democrats to stand up for all Americans, transgender Americans included.
Tell your representatives in Congress: No funding for anti-LGBTQ+ hate! ([link removed])
Then, call them again and tell them: No money for Trumpism! ([link removed])
** Tell Gov. Newsom: Don't Let Republicans Make AIDS Great Again!
------------------------------------------------------------
We in California are so close to ending the AIDS epidemic, but we can only do so if everybody has access to PrEP—a regular medication that prevents those who take it from developing AIDS.
We are joining this week's push by Equality California in support of AB 554: PrEP Access and Coverage by Asm. Mark González. This bill is critical to ensuring health plans in California cover PrEP without unnecessary costs or insurance barriers, regardless of federal rollbacks under the Trump administration.
Newsom is considering whether to sign or veto this bill. If he does the latter, he’ll be siding with healthcare parasites to let them cause death for dollars. We need to pressure him to do the right thing—and make sure he won't live it down if he doesn't!
Call and write to Gov Newsom. Use the call script here. ([link removed])
** Support Prop 50 to save our elections!
------------------------------------------------------------
Trump is trying to prevent fair elections by doing a mid-decade redistricting in red states. Prop 50 levels the playing field for the 2026 elections, creating emergency maps in California that balance out MAGA’s changes in Texas.
Unlike in MAGA states, in California voters are being given the power to approve these temporary maps with a ballot measure next month, and these maps will expire in 2030, when the independent commission goes back to work. Our democracy is in an emergency, and we need to take emergency measures to save it.
The timeline for saving our elections is very short: Look for your ballot in your mailbox in early October. That’s just over a week away. Once you get it, please fill it out and mail it back immediately!
We are going door-to-door talking to voters about Prop 50. Door-to-door canvassing is highly effective at motivating voters, and gauging where they stand. Our conversations have been incredibly positive and friendly, with many canvassed householders volunteering to join our efforts.
Read more on our blog. ([link removed])
We need your help! Please sign up to join our canvassing efforts ([link removed]) . Haven’t canvassed before? No problem! Training will be provided, and all canvassing is done in pairs, so you’ll have the support and help of a partner.
** Submit Comments on Proposed Reconsideration of the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program
------------------------------------------------------------
In addition to legislative, policy, financial, and law-enforcement attacks on our democracy, the MAGA Regime is engaged in a systematic campaign to gut or eliminate environmental, health, safety, labor, anti-discrimination, and other hard-won regulations and policies.
Their proposed Reconsideration of the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (Docket Id. No. EPA-HQ-OAR-2025-0186) would remove requirements for most GHG emitters to report emissions under the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program and suspend reporting requirements for others until 2034. The proposed rule specifically calls out the petroleum and natural gas systems source category. By removing source data, this rule would undercut scientific, economic, and regulatory analysis of GHG emissions effects, in line with the administration’s denial of climate science and science generally and failure to protect human and ecosystem health.
The comment period ends on Monday, November 3 and the “best assured of consideration” date is Thursday, October 16.

** Empower San Francisco Small Businesses to Stand Up for Their Rights and Protect Employees
------------------------------------------------------------
Help empower San Francisco small business owners with knowledge of their legal rights and responsibilities during federal agent raids. Together, we’ll invite them to learn about workplace protections and share vital resources that keep our communities safe and strong.
Please register for a one-hour volunteer training session. This training is required before you start. Sessions are offered:
* Every Other Tuesday, 5:30 - 6:30 PM ([link removed])
* Every Wednesday, 12:00 - 1:00 PM ([link removed])
This is a local campaign that was piloted with the ISF Immigration Channel volunteers and is now ready for wider distribution. There is no website info on this, so please respond to this newsletter or email
[email protected] (mailto:

** There’s more work to do: Our calls to action in the aftermath of the Jimmy Kimmel Fiasco
------------------------------------------------------------
After massive outcry, a boycott of Disney, and picketing of local ABC stations, Disney stock tanked. They accepted our demands and Jimmy Kimmel is back on the air. This is a victory we can rightfully celebrate. We showed that people power that will make media corporations think twice about obeying the Republican regime's calls for censorship.
However we are not done! Kimmel is only back on Disney and cable. Sinclair and Nexstar have NOT restored Kimmel to the air. So the boycott moves on to phase 2: pressuring Sinclair and Nexstar’s advertisers.
See our call to action here. ([link removed])
We also must pay attention to how Kimmel returns—muzzled or swinging? Stay vigilant!
There are other ways to pressure media figures to not bow down to fascism: such as letters to the editor, and contacting the National Association of Comedians asking that they form a united national collaboration against censorship.
See that call to action here. ([link removed])
And read our blog ([link removed]) on the weaponization of grief around Charlie Kirk and how it is being used by the MAGA regime to control the narrative.
