With your help, we’re working harder than ever to expand access to the outdoors, protect the places that shape our shared history, and ensure every person can experience the power of nature.
Together, we're safeguarding beloved spaces like Camp Waskowitz. Tucked into the foothills of Washington’s North Cascades, the camp was originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps — a Depression-era government work program that made a huge impact on parks nationwide.
But like many beautiful places, development has inched closer to the site in recent years. That's where Trust for Public Land and supporters like you come in.
By conserving 345 forested acres at the camp, we've already ensured this treasured place will remain accessible for generations of students and campers to discover nature and hone vital life skills. Every fifth grader in the Highline School District now gets to spend four days at outdoor camp — giving students a chance to connect with nature and their peers across backgrounds, and providing many with their first opportunity to camp or hike.

Camp Waskowitz embodies the collaborative spirit that has defined Trust for Public Land projects for more than 50 years. But right now, we’re seeing efforts by special interests and elected officials to endanger the survival of special spaces like these.
