John,
This weekend, Trump just crossed another authoritarian line. In a
now-deleted Truth Social post, he directly ordered Attorney General Pam
Bondi to prosecute his political rivals—naming Adam Schiff, James Comey,
and Letitia James as “guilty as hell.”

This wasn’t a rant. It was a directive: weaponize the Justice Department
to punish opponents. That is the textbook definition of impeachable abuse
of power.
By demanding prosecutions for political revenge, Trump shredded the
principle of separation of powers—the safeguard that keeps presidents from
ruling like kings. No democracy survives when leaders can turn justice
into a personal weapon.
Authoritarians always move first to silence rivals and criminalize
dissent. Trump is showing us, in real time, that he’ll use the state to
crush democracy if left unchecked.
