Email from 40 Days for Life Shining a light in the darkness John, The autumn 40 Days for Life campaign begins TODAY in 671 cities around the globe! The world desperately NEEDS your prayers and fasting for an end to abortion where it matters most: in front of your local abortion business. Our peaceful vigils represent light and goodness in a hurting world. In times of such anger and division, 40 Days for Life is PROVEN to: Unite the body of Christ across denominational lines; Save lives from abortion (with former abortion workers citing abortion appointment no-show rates as high as 75% when you're out there); Be safe, as more than 1,000,000 pro-lifers have participated in peaceful campaigns; END abortion locally, as 87 cities are ABORTION-FREE since their LAST abortion facility closed. More than ever, our world needs hope. Bring that hope by finding your local vigil and signing up to pray for an end to abortion: 40daysforlife.com/locations Our user-friendly website makes it easy to commit to vigil hours. Stockton, California 40 Days for Life participants in Stockton apparently couldn't wait to hit the sidewalks...so they started holding vigil even before the campaign began this morning. They saved two babies from abortion! A mother and her young-adult daughter drove an hour to Planned Parenthood, contemplating abortion. Instead they left with 40 Days for Life participants' contact information and relief on their faces. One volunteer was urged by her daughter not to join the vigil due to cultural chaos and political tension. "I told her that I was still going," she replied. Thank God she did, because she helped save a second baby from abortion in Stockton. "Not today, Satan!" she exclaimed. "Give glory to God!" Rogers, Arkansas Heather Gardner, our director of 40 Days for Life 365 and campaign advancement, served as the keynote speaker for the Northwest Arkansas March for Life, which drew an all-time high crowd of more than 500 attendees. "[Heather's] conviction and many personal stories were truly inspiring," said Sheila, who has helped lead the Rogers campaign for many years. The record attendance and Heather's message proved fruitful for the local 40 Days for Life campaign. "[Campaign leader] Denise said she got two pages of sign-ups for the upcoming vigil," Sheila added. "Praise God!" Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus." --Luke 1:30-33 God, we ask you to be with every expectant mother. Give them the courage of Mary to say yes to your divine will, even in the most unexpected circumstances. Help us to notice women in need and embrace every mother facing an unplanned pregnancy. Amen.
