Trump Delivers Blistering Rebuke at UN

The president boasted of American strength and the American economy: “America is blessed with the strongest economy, the strongest borders, the strongest military, the strongest friendships, and the strongest spirit of any nation on the face of the earth. This is indeed the golden age of America. We are rapidly reversing the economic calamity we inherited from the previous administration, including ruinous price increases and record setting inflation, inflation like we’ve never had before….” He touted American strength on borders and illegal immigration while damning others: “We have successfully repelled a colossal invasion, and for the last four months, and that’s four months in a row, the number of illegal aliens admitted and entering our country has been zero…. With immigration, it’s destroying your country and you have to do something about it.” He boasted of ending seven wars: “I’m very honored to have done it. It’s too bad that I had to do these things instead of the United Nations doing them, and sadly, in all cases, the United Nations did not even try to help in any of ’em. I ended seven wars, dealt with the leaders of each and every one of these countries and never even received a phone call from the United Nations offering to help in finalizing the deal. All I got from the United Nations was an escalator that on the way up stopped right in the middle. If the first lady wasn’t in great shape, she would’ve fallen, but she’s in great shape. We’re both in good shape. We both stood and then a teleprompter that didn’t work. These are the two things I got from the United Nations, A bad escalator and a bad teleprompter. Thank you very much…. And he returned to the immigration issue again: “Not only is the UN not solving the problems … it’s actually creating new problems for us to solve. The best example is the number one political issue of our time, the crisis of uncontrolled migration. It’s uncontrolled. Your countries are being ruined” (White House). Townhall’s Larry O’Conner breaks down the highlights (Townhall).

Trump Slams Recognition of Palestinian “State” at UN
New York Post: President Trump condemned moves by Western nations to recognize a Palestinian state on Tuesday, claiming such steps would only reward Hamas for the atrocities committed on Oct. 7, 2023. Speaking before the United Nations General Assembly, Trump called on the world powers to help him secure a hostage release deal rather than join the wave of countries that have formally recognized a Palestinian state. “As if to encourage continued conflict, some of this body is seeking to unilaterally recognize the Palestinian state. The rewards would be too great for Hamas terrorists for their atrocities,” he said (New York Post). While sitting next to French President Emmanuel Macron, the President was refreshingly blunt: Well, I think it honors Hamas and you can’t do that because of October 7th. You just can’t do that. But we want our hostages back and we don’t want ’em back in ones and twos and take the next two years to do it. We were the ones that got the hostages back, and I always said, I told Steve, I told Marco, I was always saying the last hostages are going to be the toughest ones…. But you always have to remember… People forget October 7th was one of the most savage days in the history of the world. There’s never been anything like that. We’re talking about babies being sliced in half. You’re talking about young children having their heads chopped off. You can’t forget that (Rapid Response).

Secret Service Dismantles SIM Server Threat That Could Have Disrupted UN Meeting
As well as dismantling all of New York City mobile phone service. Secret Service: The U.S. Secret Service dismantled a network of electronic devices located throughout the New York tristate area that were used to conduct multiple telecommunications-related threats directed towards senior U.S. government officials, which represented an imminent threat to the agency’s protective operations. This protective intelligence investigation led to the discovery of more than 300 co-located SIM servers and 100,000 SIM cards across multiple sites. In addition to carrying out anonymous telephonic threats, these devices could be used to conduct a wide range of telecommunications attacks. This includes disabling cell phone towers, enabling denial of services attacks and facilitating anonymous, encrypted communication between potential threat actors and criminal enterprises (Secret Service).

Trump Would-Be Assassin: Guilty on All Counts
The aspiring assassin who hid on the golf course for some nine hours was convicted yesterday on five counts, including the attempted assassination of a presidential candidate. Wall Street Journal: A Florida federal jury found Routh guilty of five criminal counts, including the attempted assassination of a presidential candidate. He faces up to life in prison. The defendant made the unusual decision of representing himself at the trial, which took place over more than two weeks…. On the day of the attempted assassination, Routh hid for hours along the sixth hole of a Trump golf course. He had a rifle with him, as well as bulletproof shielding that could withstand fire from law-enforcement agents, prosecutors said. He also had a camera pointed at the location he expected to shoot the president, they said…. Secret Service agent Robert Fercano testified at the trial that he spotted Routh, confronted him and saw he had a rifle. “At that moment in time when I had recognized that this was a barrel of a weapon pointed at my face, I was in fear for my life, I was in fear for the life of the shift on the course, and I was in fear for President Trump’s life,” Fercano testified. Fercano shot at Routh, who fled the course but was later captured (Wall Street Journal).

Routh Tries to Stab Himself After Guilty Verdict
New York Post: Ryan Routh, the madman who holed up in a sniper’s nest with an assault rifle at one of President Trump’s golf courses, tried to stab himself with a pen in a Florida courtroom Tuesday after he was convicted of attempting to assassinate the then-GOP nominee. A dramatic scene unfolded as jurors were leaving the courtroom when Routh took a pen and started trying to jab himself in the neck. Courtroom marshals sprung to action and dragged him out of the room as his daughter, Sara Routh, screamed at her father. “Dad I love you. Don’t do anything. I’ll get you out. He didn’t hurt anybody,” the daughter yelled (New York Post).

Trump on Ukraine: “in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form”
The language from the president is a “stark departure” from his stance thus far. Financial Times: Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Ukraine was in a position to win back all of its territory seized by Russia, in an abrupt change of stance by the US president about the war between the two countries. Trump said that Ukraine, with the support of Europe and Nato, should be able to return to its borders that preceded the conflict. His efforts to broker an end to the war in Ukraine have stalled since he met Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last month. However, after sitting down with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, Trump wrote in a social media post: “I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form.” Trump also said Nato members should shoot down Russian fighter jets if they crossed into European airspace, though he stopped short of guaranteeing US participation in such military operations. Trump’s comments on Ukraine’s territorial integrity mark a stark departure from his previous position that Kyiv would have to make concessions to Moscow to end the war, including by giving up some of its land (Financial Times).

Google Admits Censoring Speech Under Biden
The admission comes by way of the indefatigable efforts of the House Judiciary Committee and Chairman Jim Jordan: Google commits to offer all creators previously kicked off YouTube due to political speech violations on topics such as COVID-19 and elections an opportunity to return to the platform. Google also admitted the following to the House Judiciary Committee: 1. The Biden Administration pressured Google to censor Americans and remove content that did not violate YouTube’s policies. 2. The Biden Administration censorship pressure was “unacceptable and wrong.” 3. Public debate should never come at the expense of relying “authorities.” 4. The company will never use third-party “fact-checkers.” 5. Europe’s censorship laws target American companies and threaten American speech, including the removal of “lawful content.” These major admissions come after Chairman Jordan’s subpoena to Google and a years long investigation into the company (Judiciary). Chairman Jordan summarizes the Big Tech censorship efforts from the Biden era in a long thread—including the speech-muzzling from Google, Facebook and YouTube: All the above are MASSIVE wins for the American people, the First Amendment, and freedom. We won’t stop fighting to protect free speech (Jordan).

Keith Olbermann Threatens Scott Jennings, Pressured to Retract
Where are the prominent voices on the left telling this element among them to dial it back? Katie Jerkovich at RedState: Keith Olbermann appeared to threaten the life of Scott Jennings in an extreme way, telling him he’s next …  and the FBI is now involved. In a move that most would call insane following the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk less than two weeks ago, Olbermann is ready to do anything but turn down the violent rhetoric, telling the Townhall.com host he’s next…. Olbermann’s original post, before he deleted it, appeared to be a direct threat to the CNN contributor and Townhall.com host. It can be seen below in the screenshot. Warning: it contains profanity. “You’re next, mother ……” Olbermann wrote in a reply to Jennings. “But keep mugging the camera.” Our sister site Townhall.com’s Dustin Grage shared the screenshot before Olbermann could delete it. This has to stop (RedState). Tom Knighton: What’s telling is how the left is largely saying nothing about this. The post has been deleted, so it doesn’t matter, even as they are trying to dictate to the right about “lowering the temperature” right now…. When they tell you who and what they really are, believe them (Townhall). Olbermann has since tried to backtrack, quoting his X post: Yesterday I wrote and immediately deleted 2 responses to him about Kimmel because they could be misinterpreted as a threat to anything besides his career. I immediately replaced them with ones specifying what I actually meant. I oppose and condemn political violence, and the threat of it. All times are the wrong time to leave even an inadvertent impression of it – but this time is especially wrong  I should’ve acknowledged the deletion and apologized yesterday. I’m sorry I delayed (Townhall).

JK Rowling Continues Move Rightward
Now on the issue of life—and the U.K.’s assisted suicide law. The famed author used to support it. She no longer does. Concurrent with her shifting worldview to the right, Andrew Roberts—the leading living Churchill historian—has come out in favor of the assisted suicide measure. Kathryn Jean Lopez: A remarkable debate about life itself is playing out in the U.K. Historian Andrew Roberts has declared that it’s monstrous to not legalize assisted suicide in England. J. K. Rowling, on the other hand, has said that she has changed her mind on the matter and now opposes assisted suicide. “I used to believe in assisted dying,” she wrote. “I no longer do, largely because I’m married to a doctor who opened my eyes to the possibilities of coercion of sick or vulnerable people.” On the other hand, during a day of debate over a bill passed by the House of Commons to make assisted suicide legal, Andrew Roberts, a member of the House of Lords, told the body that doctors’ killing patients is nothing more alarming than someone taking penicillin….. This isn’t Shakespeare. This is real life with eternal consequences (National Review).

On Charlie Kirk Show, Allie Beth Stuckey Asks Kirk Cameron About What’s Happening Spiritually
Allie Beth Stuckey was a guest/co-host yesterday, joining Kirk’s producer Andrew Kolvet. Allie asks Kirk Cameron: “What’s your take on what you’ve seen in the state of the spiritual world over the past couple of weeks? Kirk responds: We read in the scriptures that Jesus going to the cross was the plan to result in the salvation of millions and billions of people around the world. And every martyr that has shed his blood has resulted in revivals personally and in families and in communities and in nations. And I know that behind the curtain, God is working miracles…. He’s working all things together for good, for those who love him and for those who are called according to His purposes. And it’s always at these moments when all hope seems lost, when it’s against all odds that God uses the seemingly foolish and weak things of the world to turn things around. And that’s what Charlie was all about. He’s using the hearts and minds of young people on college campuses that have now been lit on fire. And now there’s millions of Charlies. They’re all saying, “we are Charlie Kirk, we are Charlie Kirk. We are carrying on the message. We’re carrying on your tour. We’re carrying on your podcast.” And it reminds me of Tertullian in the second century who said, “when you mow us down, you only make us spread because our blood is like seed.” That’s where we get the phrase, “the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.” So I feel the rumblings of revival under my feet in so many ways. And this event with Charlie has just poured gasoline onto the fire for millions of people around the world (Salem Podcast Network).
