About the job
As the Assistant Director for Facility Professional Services, you will provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction for a division with statewide responsibility for managing and supporting public works projects for state agencies and community and technical colleges. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you will lead a team of over 100 staff in delivering expert services in capital construction, facility planning, energy conservation, contracting, and project management. In this role, you will oversee policy development, guide program managers, and collaborate with stakeholders—including agency leadership, the Legislature, contractors, and the public—to ensure the successful planning, design, construction, and renovation of facilities across Washington. You will also provide statewide leadership in public works best practices, ensuring that the division’s expertise and resources align with the Department of Enterprise Services’ mission and strategic goals.
