In February of this year, the US government abruptly ended a huge proportion of funding for humanitarian aid. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams are witnessing the devastating effects for our patients, including those facing malnutrition, infectious diseases, and other humanitarian crises around the world.

In the border regions across South Sudan and Ethiopia, MSF teams are responding to a rampant cholera outbreak amid escalating violence—while other organizations have scaled down their presence. Since early March, MSF teams have treated over 1,000 cholera patients across South Sudan and have received over 30 patients wounded in the violence. In Ethiopia's Gambella region, MSF has treated over 560 cholera patients since the response began.
