On September 30th, the Iowa Democratic Party has an FEC End-of-Quarter deadline. What this means is that we have to report how much money we’ve raised over the last quarter (from July 1st to September 30th) to the FEC, and then they’ll publish those numbers for the public to see.
With that in mind, I can’t emphasize enough how important it is that we reach our September fundraising goal.
With the recent momentum we’ve seen following Iowa’s special elections, Republicans, Democrats, and Iowans will be assessing whether Iowa has a strong enough base to help Democrats win up and down the ballot next fall — from the Governor’s race to state legislature races.
And the answer to assessing Democrats’ strength runs right through the state Democratic party.
We have something to prove. That our special election success wasn’t just a fluke, and Iowans are ready for change.
I’ve been crunching the numbers and we’re going to need a pretty hefty boost to meet our September goal before next Tuesday. If everyone reading this email chipped in $5, $10, $25, or whatever you can, I’ll feel more confident about reaching our goal.
