Donald Trump will punish anyone who has the independence to challenge his baseless vendettas.

Example A: on Friday, he forced out the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia because he refused to bend the law and go after Trump’s perceived enemies.

Then he had a meltdown live on TV, where he attacked me and my fellow Virginia senator, Tim Kaine – smearing our record of delivering for Virginia and blaming us for this chaos.

I’ll be honest with you, friend. I’m not losing sleep because Trump attacked me on TV, called me “among the worst” Democrats, or labeled me a “bad guy.”

What I am worried about is becoming Example B.

Think about it: all of Trump’s allied super PACs and special interest pals are paying attention. The more I continue to speak out against Trump and challenge his dangerous agenda, the more I risk becoming one of his top targets in next year’s election.

Which means this could very well be my toughest and most expensive campaign ever.

It’s only a matter of time before Trump’s super PACs swoop in to Virginia. So I’m asking: will you donate anything you can so my campaign and I can prepare for the attack ads coming our way? [link removed]
