Hey John, I’m excited to share that  Jimmy Kimmel is back on the air. 

Here's what happened: 

Last week, I led a resolution that over 115 of my Democratic colleagues in Congress signed onto. We pushed back against the authoritarian attempts to silence free speech, speaking out against Donald Trump and the officials in his administration. 

John, this wasn’t just because of this resolution. It was because millions of you also stood up in defense of free speech — and it worked. 

Far too often, Trump and his administration make us feel hopeless. They flood the zone with ridiculous policies and authoritarian plans. They make us feel powerless.

But we aren’t powerless. We can speak out, fight back, and defend our democracy. 

When we organize and mobilize together, we can win — and we will continue to do so.

This is a proud moment, but we can’t rest on our victory. Because Donald Trump will continue to come after free speech. He wants to systematically silence us, one journalist, comedian, or politician at a time. We can’t let him.
