I know your inbox is probably full of emails from Democrats like me asking for your hard-earned money, especially with a massive FEC fundraising deadline coming up next week.

So first of all, I wanted to say thank you for just taking the time to open this message and read it through.

And second, with that important deadline arriving in the very near future, I know it’s on me to provide you with a good reason why this campaign is worth your investment. But instead of just one reason, I want to give you four. (if you’re in a hurry, here’s the best link to chip in!)

1. I’m not afraid to say what we’re all thinking. I may represent one of the most competitive districts in the country, but I’ve never let that stop me from calling out Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans for who they really are: Two-faced authoritarians who don't give a damn about working families.


2. My new opponent is an RFK Jr. disciple, and he has a real shot at winning. Last year, my election was decided by just 2 percentage points, and next year’s could be even closer. That means there’s a very real possibility CA-47’s next representative is a Trump-loving, science-denying extremist — unless we raise enough money to stop him.


3. The NRCC is already on the air against me. To be completely honest, I never expected Republicans to start attacking us this early. Their strategy is clear: Define our campaign in the worst possible light, before most voters have even started to think about the midterms. We can’t let that happen.


4. I don’t take a dime of corporate PAC money. I want my constituents to know that I work for them and them alone, not some faceless corporation. But because my Republican opponents are more than happy to accept corporate cash, that means we have to make up the difference at the grassroots level.
