On his first day as Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. deliberately gutted the U.S. response to threats to our public health when he fired approximately 1,300 CDC employees.
Then, as our country faced the largest outbreak of measles since it was declared eliminated in 2000, he downplayed the effectiveness of vaccines and clashed with CDC advice to protect our children. Three passed away from the disease this year already. It’s a parent’s worst nightmare!
Now, he's ousted the current CDC director, and several CDC leaders have resigned due to his anti-science rhetoric and policy that put millions of American lives at risk… not to mention the workers endangered by the anti-vaccine shooting at the CDC early last month.
John, Trump and RFK Jr. have been weaponizing public health for political gain, and our families CANNOT afford for us to stand by as they dismantle our public health system.
Now more than ever, we must fight to defend the institutions that protect our health, our communities, and our future.
