Gamaliel is Hosting a Farewell Celebration in Honor of Ana

Join us to celebrate and honor Ana Garcia-Ashley’s lifelong commitment to and work for a more just world. As she had said herself, she is not done, but as Ana ends her stewardship of the Gamaliel Network, we want to take time to thank her and to share stories, refreshments, and community with her. All proceeds from this event will go to the Ana Garcia-Ashley Fund For Future Organizing.

For those able to join in-person, the celebration reception runs from 2:00-5:00 p.m., in Chicago. A physical address will provided upon registration.

For those only able to join virtually, the program begins at 3:00 p.m. (Central Time). A Zoom link will be provided when you register.

Registration is required. Note: registration closes on Saturday, October 18th.

Ntosake, Gamaliel’s signature training program for women by women, honored Ana Garcia-Ashley at its biennial training in St. Louis in early September with this collage of voices lifting up what Ana has meant to them and to this Network through the years. You have the opportunity to honor Ana, as well, with photos, videos, and congratulatory messages.

Invest in The Future of Organizing

On the occasion of Ana Garcia-Ashley’s retirement, Gamaliel has established the Ana Garcia-Ashley Fund for the Future of Organizing. This fund will support work that carries forward the passionate and powerful organizing for which Ana is known: developing leaders and building powerful, democratic organizations that move us toward creation of the beloved community in our cities, states, and nation. Having served as an Executive Director in MICAH-Milwaukee, WISDOM-Wisconsin, and now with Gamaliel, she understands the importance of raising unrestricted funds so that the money may be used where it is most needed and effective. The Future of Organizing Fund will be administered by the Gamaliel Board of Directors.

Below are suggested levels of investment:

  • Friend of Organizing $150 - $499
  • Supporter of Organizing $500 - $749
  • Partner for Organizing $750 - $999
  • Seventh Generation Investor $1000 and above
