Dear Friend,

Our office is hosting some exciting programs for students in Minnesota’s Sixth District!

Our office is participating in the Congressional App Challenge again this year! Since 2013, the Congressional App Challenge has helped students develop science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills to meet the demands of our increasingly digital economy in a fun and competitive environment.

The App Challenge invites high school students to compete against their classmates and peers around the country in creating their own software application for mobile devices, or an app. There is still time to participate in this year’s competition! More information is available here.

While the school year has just begun, if your student is in high school, it’s never too early to start thinking about the future. Our office will be hosting a Service Academy information night for students interested in applying for nomination to one of our nation’s service academies.

The meeting will give students the opportunity to learn more about the application process as well as the Congressional nomination process. Representatives from the United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Air Force Academy, the United States Naval Academy, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy will be available to answer questions about the application and nomination process.

Our nation’s service academies produce some of the best and brightest members of our armed forces. These exceptional young people make a lasting commitment to serving our country, and we are proud to play a small role in supporting that journey.

If you know a student interested in attending one of our nation’s prestigious service academies, please join us on October 2nd to learn about the nomination process or visit our website for more information.

Sincerely,
