First: Derek flipped this Republican-held seat by 653 votes – 0.2% of the vote – in one of the closest election battles last year. We faced millions in attack ads from Elon Musk’s super PAC, and we’re already seeing a huge increase in GOP spending to flip CA-45 right back to red.

Then: Redistricting news in California complicated the landscape. Democrats are fighting against Texas Republicans’ redrawing of Congressional lines by voting to redraw the lines in California. If passed, this would mean CA-45 would add thousands of new voters.

Now: Derek is already facing Republican challengers with the full might of the GOP machine behind them. With the attacks on our democracy mounting, and only three seats separating House control, we need a grassroots surge of support to hold the line.
