The adoption of AI and robotics from 2020 to 2022 had minimal overall effect on employment levels among businesses, according to recent US Census Bureau data. When technology did impact workforce numbers, AI and specialized software were more likely to increase employment, while robotics showed no significant difference between increased or decreased employment. Amazon is expanding its Multi-Channel Fulfillment service to include Walmart, Shopify and Shein, allowing merchants to manage inventory across more sales channels. Amazon has also introduced Global Warehousing and Distribution, enabling sellers to store products near manufacturing sites at lower costs, and is using generative AI to streamline customs clearance.

US reliance on imports from the EU has surpassed that on China in terms of total value and product variety, according to a study from Germany's IW economic institute. The study shows that the number of product groups in which at least 50% of imports come from the EU has risen to more than 3,100, with a total value of $287 billion, while China accounts for 2,925 product groups worth $247 billion.
