Dear Friend,
Selena. Jordan. Gavin. Mason. Walker. Carson.
These are names of children who have lost their lives due to harms they encountered online. And there are many, many more.
The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) could have saved these children. It is too late for them. We can’t let it be too late for others.
The fight to pass KOSA has been going on for over three years. Last year, we came excruciatingly close, with the bill passing the Senate by a landslide. We had enough bipartisan support to pass the House as well, but in the end, time ran out—KOSA was not put up for a vote.
Parents everywhere grieved, especially those who had been fighting hard in the name of their kids whose lives were ripped away far too soon.
This year must be different. 2025 must be the year KOSA becomes law.
What does this have to do with you?
We’re going to be honest: for KOSA to pass, we need your financial support. Big Tech is throwing all the money they can at fighting this bill. Over the last three years, Meta and Google alone spent $90 million lobbying against KOSA.
One tech company even offered NCOSE over $1 million to influence us towards other policy solutions that would let them off the hook. (Of course, we said no.)
So, can we rely on your donations instead?
An amazingly generous donor has offered us a $1 million double matching grant for all gifts given in 2025. If you help us maximize this grant, will doubly make up what we turned down from the tech industry!
The best way to support is by becoming a Defender—a monthly giver, committed to the long haul to the fight to end all sexual exploitation.
If you become a Defender today, each monthly gift from now until the end of the year will be DOUBLED.
Please make this commitment to children and the vulnerable—you will save lives!!
