If Democrats lose this court and Republicans successfully get a majority of Pennsylvanians to vote no on retaining the justices who give the courts their 3-vote democratic majority, here’s what’s at stake: MAGA can rig the 2026 and 2028 elections to ensure Pennsylvania and its 19 electoral college votes go red. Trump will push for a redistricting of Pennsylvania’s Congressional map, erasing blue seats. An extreme abortion will be upheld. Voting yes on retaining the justices ensures the court's Democratic majority, guaranteeing fair elections, no gerrymandering, and no extreme abortion ban. Which is why MAGA is especially depraved for using this vile tactic to dupe pro-women voters: One of the hundreds of MAGA dark money ads that Pennsylvania social media users are being saturated with on a daily basis. The above ad is being pushed by the innocuously named Citizens for Term Limits, an insidious MAGA dark money PAC, which is urging voters to “term limit the court,” a reasonable sounding proposition that will “protect women’s rights” and can be accomplished by voting no. Voting no will not protect women. It will guarantee an abortion ban. These ads are meant to target Democrats, and unless we can counter their propaganda, thousands of Dems are going to inadvertently vote for the Republican cause because of disinformation. Defend Our Courts has a solution: The most effective way to counter disinformation is one-on-one conversations with voters. This past weekend alone, the Defend Our Courts field team spoke with over 3500+ voters at their doors, ensuring that they would vote yes. It’s a start, but if we want to counter MAGA’s disinfo at a strategic level, we need to scale our scrappy team of fifty canvassers into the hundreds—rapidly. We have 42 days left until E-day to get the real facts to PA voters before they are drowned out by disinfo.
