Hi John,
Last week, TFN co-hosted the inaugural National Religious Freedom in Public Schools Summit alongside Interfaith Alliance and a broad coalition of civil rights, faith, and education organizations, bringing together more than 150 advocates from 22 states.
TFN didn't just attend the Summit, John — we led the way. Our President and Executive Director Felicia Martin spoke on the opening night panel, Lessons from Texas for the Rest of the Country, and the next day, we hosted a breakout session on how to get more young Texans involved in the fight. |

“True religious freedom means families — not politicians — decide what faith, if any, our kids are taught. Forcing one religious perspective into classrooms undermines the freedom of all students to feel safe and respected."

On Tuesday, we facilitated the breakout session Next Generation Defenders: Mobilizing Youth for Religious Freedom in Public Schools. The session, joined by Students Engaged in Advancing Texas (SEAT), the ACLU of Texas, a Texas Rising Alumna, and our Just Texas manager, centered students as leaders in the fight against religious coercion in schools; connecting young activists to share organizing strategies, build power, and develop shared messaging that frames youth advocacy as pro-religious freedom for all.
Together, Summit attendees committed to growing grassroots power, sharing resources, and putting youth voices at the center of the nationwide fight to protect every student’s dignity and freedom. |

John, there's a reason this event took place here in the Lone Star State: Texas is at the center of the religious right's coordinated, nationwide campaign to force single-minded views into public education. But our advocacy organizations and coalitions are also some of the strongest. We're truly leading the resistance.
TFN is proud to play a critical role in the fight here in Texas. If you're able, I hope you'll consider donating to the Texas Freedom Network Education Fund. Every dollar helps us effectively mobilize people of all ages, faiths, and identities to protect the separation of church and state.
