Call, write, or visit your U.S. Representative and Senators to tell them: “Defend the First Amendment against Trump’s attacks. Launch immediate investigations into Trump’s plans to silence and jail peaceful critics and protesters. Take action to stop him.”

Use of the government apparatus, billionaire-owned media, and other corporate influence to censure members of Congress for speaking opposition views, fire media personalities, rig election districts, bust unions, and criminalize people of color and working class organizations are witch hunt tactics from the McCarthyite playbook that must be exposed and stopped.

Security is not achieved with repression of the right to free speech and political dissent. Rather, security is achieved by enacting spending bills that meet the needs of the people for health care, housing, education, employment, and respect for the dignity and humanity of all. Members of Congress must speak out, investigate, legislate, and engage their constituents.
