Team,
Another man running for re-election for the Virginia House of Delegates wants to implement an abortion ban…surprise, surprise. Good thing we have a plan:
We are proud to have endorsed Elizabeth Guzmán for House District 22. She is running to unseat Delegate Ian Lovejoy, who has an alarming record of working to strip away reproductive rights in VA.
This is a highly competitive district, and we need to act fast to ensure Elizabeth can defeat her anti-choice opponent. Help us elect pro-choice candidates in VA by chipping in $25 today →
Here’s a look at his record:
❌ He voted against the bill to guarantee the right to obtain and use birth control.
❌ He voted against our Reproductive Freedom Amendment, which would enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution.
❌ On his campaign website, it says that he supports “commonsense consensus to protect life at 15 weeks.” News to us, and the millions of voters across the Commonwealth who support abortion access, that there is a “commonsense consensus” on restricting our rights…?!

Our endorsed candidate, Elizabeth Guzmán, is a social worker and public administrator, and was the first Latina immigrant to serve in the General Assembly.
One of Elizabeth’s top priorities if elected is protecting reproductive freedom. She knows that this means more than just access to abortion. It also involves safeguarding contraception, giving people control over when and how they start a family, and making childcare and family leave more accessible.
You don’t have to take our word for it: In 2021, Elizabeth sponsored a bill that removed the ban on abortion coverage for health insurance plans offered in Virginia through the health benefits exchange. She has been a strong pro-choice proponent and the leader we need in Virginia.
Her opponent, Ian, on the other hand, wants to ban abortion “when a baby can begin to feel pain,” which he claims is at 15 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, “The science conclusively establishes that a human fetus does not have the capacity to experience pain until after at least 24–25 weeks.”
Plain and simple, Ian is WRONG for Virginia – and we have a real chance to unseat him this November.
Early voting is underway, which means we need everyone to step up now to ensure our pro-abortion rights candidates have what they need to reach voters and win. Will you rush $25 or whatever you can to support our work today?
Together,
