[ [link removed] ]Welch for Vermont
Hi Friends,
President Trump promised America that on Day One, he was going to lower
prices. We’ve seen the exact opposite.

Not only is inflation rising, it’s picking up speed. August was the
highest rise in inflation since President Trump was elected.
His policies are making things worse.
First, Trump’s tariffs—they’re a tax on the middle class. They raise the
price of all the things you buy every day, and they harm our relationships
with our allies in the process.
Second, the so-called Big Beautiful Bill will rip health care coverage
from thousands of Americans and close rural hospitals. Trump’s attack on
health care coverage is already raising premiums in Vermont and across the
country.
Third, the cruel immigration policies of the Trump administration are
tearing families apart and squeezing businesses. At his direction, the
federal government has rounded up and deported thousands of folks who work
hard and contribute to their communities. Not only is that immoral, it
means we have fewer workers, fewer businesses, and less growth, driving up
prices for you. Deploying troops to round up our neighbors makes us less
safe — physically and economically.
The cost of Trump’s presidency is just too high. Working families can’t
afford for President Trump to keep raising their prices. I’ll keep
fighting to lower prices to give every family a chance at the American
Dream.
Thanks,
Peter
