Here’s an update from our campaign:

Yesterday, I joined hundreds in Racine County for a vigil honoring the life of Charlie Kirk.

Charlie was known for his work on college campuses, engaging in dialogue and debate, and inspiring the next generation of Americans. He had a tremendous impact on thousands of young people, including many in Wisconsin.

His impact on our community was clear last night, when hundreds of Wisconsin families turned out to honor his legacy.

We should continue to follow Charlie’s example and engage in productive dialogue and persuasion, particularly in places where conservative thought is not well represented.

** Ensuring the Government Runs Efficiently
------------------------------------------------------------

Last week, the House passed a number of bills to support our veterans and improve access to care. This includes legislation codifying access to telemedicine ([link removed]) services.

The House also passed a continuing resolution (CR) to prevent a lapse in funding at the end of the month. This resolution makes no substantial policy changes and keeps the government funded at existing levels until November 21.

This stopgap measure allows Congress to continue to work through the appropriations process and build a responsible federal budget and eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse.

Democrats in the Senate, led by Chuck Schumer, chose to vote against the clean CR passed by the House. The Senate will need to pass the resolution offered by the House to prevent a lapse in funding at the end of the month.
