CBS News reports that these five states are among those that will decide control of the Senate in 2026: Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Iowa and Texas.

Republicans know it. They’re already pouring millions into dark money ads. If we don’t fight back now, we risk losing our shot at a Democratic majority.

Here’s why these states matter:

• Georgia: Holding Jon Ossoff’s seat is critical to stopping GOP attacks on voting rights.
• Michigan: This state shifted blue in 2020, but Trump won here last year and the economy and local working-class communities are under pressure. We can’t lose ground.
• North Carolina: An open Senate seat could finally flip this longtime GOP stronghold.
• Iowa: Traditionally a swing state, it’s now trending red. But with fighting grassroots efforts, we can push it back.
• Texas: We’ve made progress in Texas every election. Still, the effort will be monumental.
