It's Hispanic Heritage Month!
This month is supposed to be a time of joy. A time for music, food, parades, and honoring our history and contributions.
Instead, deep fear is in the air. Across the country, celebrations are being canceled. Festivals moved indoors. Parades scaled back. Families afraid to gather.
Why? Because Donald Trump, White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, and a Supreme Court stacked with extremists have given ICE the green light to racially profile our communities. To seize people because they look Latino, speak Spanish, or work a low-wage job.
No one should fear celebrating who they are because they could be targeted for deportation…
This is not about “public safety.” It’s fascism in plain sight.
Movement for Freedom was built for moments like this. When communities are told to shrink back in fear, when our culture is under attack, when our democracy is at stake. We will not be silent. We will not stop organizing. And we will not let Trump’s authoritarian playbook define our future.
