1. One Year Later: Hurricane Helene

One year ago, Hurricane Helene devastated the Southeastern United States – claiming over 230 lives, flooding communities and leaving millions without power.

Americares responded immediately, deploying an emergency response team within 24 hours. In the first six months, we delivered more than 17 tons of medicine and supplies, deployed a mobile medical clinic and provided $1 million in emergency funding to 31 partner organizations across five states. We also installed four water purification systems and reached over 400 survivors with mental health support.

3. Mobile Medical Team Delivers Lifesaving Care in Haiti

Families in remote regions of southern Haiti often have to travel long distances – more than 200 miles – to see a doctor. But thanks to your support, Americares has expanded access to care for the 40,000 residents living in hard-to-reach areas by adding a solar energy system and a mobile clinic to a local health center. Now local doctors can travel into the hills twice a week – bringing medicine and lifesaving care directly to patients. In just three months, mobile teams reached 425 patients and prescribed over 45 different medications.

Haiti’s health system has many challenges, but we remain committed to providing access to primary health care, medicine and lifesaving support – no matter how far patients live from a clinic.
