Lab survivors Delilah, Marigold, and Mochi kickstarted the fight to #SaveTheNIH25 on social media. We need your animals to join them!

Lab cats are just like your pets: deserving of love, comfort, and long, happy lives.  

Instead, National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded experimenters plan to cut open their chests, induce heart failure, and kill them by removing their hearts while they’re still alive.  

These kittens—the NIH 25—could possibly have been spared when this Temple University lab was set to end on July 31, 2025.  

But the NIH quietly extended the lab for another year, just days after claiming it was “working tirelessly” to end dog and cat labs.  

Under NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya and Acting Deputy Director Nicole Kleinstreuer, these kittens have been condemned to die while millions of taxpayer dollars are wasted. 

You can fight back by joining White Coat Waste’s (WCW) #SaveTheNIH25 Challenge on social media. 

1. POST a photo of your pet. 
2. CAPTION your photo with why you support the NIH 25 kittens, using #SaveTheNIH25. 
3. TAG three friends in your post and challenge them to share their photos, too! 

BONUS: Create a custom #SaveTheNIH25 sign at home and take a purr-fect photo of your pet alongside it, just like our brave survivors have done! 

We challenge YOU to help us reach our goal of 1,000 pictures posted. We want to flood social media with furry friends and a message of solidarity that the NIH can’t ignore. 

For every pet photo posted, a generous WCW donor will give $1 (up to $1,000) to help us shut this lab down. 

WCW has already convinced the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Navy to shut down animal testing programs. 

We can push the NIH to do the same—if enough of us speak out.
